I have written before on several occasions to be aware of scammers. The new one making the rounds is that scammers are setting up false adverts, whether it be on Facebook or eBay (even other sites),
It is usually for those looking for specific breeds, even those with pedigrees. The main issue is, that the scammers are asking for payment up-front before you see the puppy, or to cover custom and quarantine costs. If they ask fro this, before you see the puppy then you should say “thanks, but no thanks”. It is probably a scam.
If you a looking for a puppy, or dog, you would be better going to a local animal rescue or RSPCA, or talk to your local Kennel Control organisation for a registered breeder. Personally, I won’t purchase a dog from a pet shop or online. I will either goto the RSPCA or a registered breeder. All the dogs I live with are from a registered breeder, or is an offspring from one of our dogs and the sire is from another breeder registered with the Kennel Control.
Another great article is from the ACCC.
